Roofer Tervuren renovates beautiful villa

Are you looking for a roofer in Tervuren? Are you curious about the result of natural slates on a beautiful villa? Then definitely read on.

Del Carmen natural slates

The residents in Tervuren wanted a natural-looking result that looked very stylish. Del Carmen natural slates were an excellent choice for them. It allows your villa to beautifully integrate into a natural environment and gives a handsome, timeless result. You can give a more rural villa a modern touch with it. In Tervuren, you notice that the original style of the villa has been beautifully preserved.

The Del Carmen natural slate comes from a quarry in North-West Spain. The dark grey color with a deep blue undertone is characteristic of this slate. Natural slates are not the cheapest roof tiles. It is an investment that is more than worth it.

These roof tiles have the longest lifespan and can withstand all weather conditions. They last a minimum of 80 years, and the lifespan can even extend up to 200 years. Moreover, they require almost no maintenance. The stone is not very porous, so algae and mosses cannot adhere. They do not fade in color. If you want an aesthetic option, this is a "creme de la creme" within roofing materials. This stone contains no harmful substances and has a small ecological footprint.

This tasteful and durable roof tile is the favorite choice of architects.

Asbestos-containing roof

The reason to renovate the roof was the asbestos-containing roofing. We found that the sub-roof also contained asbestos. It was urgently time to tackle the roof because inhaling asbestos-containing dust particles can cause serious health problems. This was the ideal opportunity for the roofer in Tervuren to thoroughly address the insulation.

The importance of a vapor barrier and a sub-roof

If you want your insulation material to last a long time, you want to prevent it from getting damp. If insulation material becomes damp, it insulates less well and you have energy loss. Therefore, it is important to invest in a vapor barrier and a sub-roof. The vapor barrier that the roofer installed prevents the moisture that the residents create from entering the insulation. That is moisture created by evaporation released by cooking, showering, …

To effectively protect the insulation from external weather conditions, we installed a sub-roof. Both a sub-roof and a vapor barrier have a relatively low cost. This small investment cost can be neglected compared to the benefits. Be sure to read our blog post: “Is a sub-roof really necessary?”, if you want to know its usefulness.

The finish

We deliberately did not finish the eaves. The eave is where the roof extends slightly further than the wall. The roof itself is raised and finished with Rockpanel cladding. As a result, you can now see the white beams that support the roof, which adds extra charm to the look of the house. The finishing of the gutter with copper details also gives the property a refined appearance.

We had the luxury with such a spacious roof to subtly place the solar panels as a horizontal strip at the peak of the roof. This way, you can still enjoy the appearance that the roofing provides.
